Our family-run Cherry Orchard Farm offers bed and breakfast, and camping in the beautiful Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. A peaceful family site with particularly reasonable rates for camping of £8.00/psn./night for adults and £5.00/psn./night for kids under 12yo. You have access to several mains water taps, four toilets and a hot shower as well as the stunning rural setting. Although public liability forbids open ground fires campers are welcome to bring a BBQ. I also ensure that everyone has plenty of space by NOT crowding you in wall to wall, as in some campsites! I also insist that noise levels are kept as unobtrusive as possible - no noisy sound-systems please!
A large Victorian farmhouse with mature gardens, Cherry Orchard farm is only 1/2 a mile from the historic Offa's Dyke and ideally situated for enjoying the Royal Forest of Dean, the beautiful Wye valley and South Wales. The farm offers very comfortable bed and breakfast or a lovely peaceful campsite (see guest reviews)
The surrounding area is perfect for hiking, rambling, nature study, pond dipping, local history and canoeing. In the Forest of Dean there is an excellent safe lake, 'Mallard's Pike'. Information on these and other local activities and pursuits can be obtained from the local Tourist Information Office at Coleford - tel: 01594 812388, or Monmouth - tel: 01600 713899.
Cherry Orchard Farm is just a five minute walk from the famous Ostrich Inn in Newland, which is child-friendly and known throughout the realm for its superb food and wide range of real ales (there are usually eight on at any one time), its fine wines and spirits - not to mention Katherine's warm welcome and effusive hospitality!
