Hazel Mount Fellside Camping is a wonderful, quiet, private site nestled in the stunning Lake District National Park. With glorious 360° views, this is the perfect getaway for families, small groups, couples or the solo traveller wanting to get back to nature and away from the usual hustle and bustle.
There are three camping areas to choose from depending on your needs:
- The main camping area can be booked exclusively as a whole unit for a group of up to 8 people. This area has its own firepit and outdoor kitchen unit and, overlooks the gorgeous Duddon estuary.
- Your own little bubble of paradise from one of several pitches dotted around the site.
- A more traditional hay meadow that becomes an additional camping area once the crop has been harvested.
Nearby, you will find plenty of bridleways and footpaths to explore, including a beautiful route that takes you past Swinside Stone Circle. This was constructed sometime between 3,300 to 900 BC and was described as "the loveliest of all the circles" in north-western Europe by Megalithic specialist, Aubrey Burl.
There are gorgeous sandy beaches close by such as those at Haverigg and Silecroft, just a 10-minute drive away. And, of course, this area has plenty of lakes such as the Coniston at 20 minutes away, and Ambleside and Windermere at about 40 minutes.
The nearby town of Millom hosts all the amenities you will need including supermarkets, takeaways, laundrette and independent shops and you can discover many local pubs and restaurants.
At the picturesque site of Hazel Mount Fellside, you can simply sit back, soak in the plethora of wildflowers and wildlife and reconnect with your loved ones without the distractions of modern life.
