Park Cliffe is one of the best family camping and caravan parks in the stunning Lake District. The surroundings are simply beautiful, helped along by the environmental commitment of the owners. Their David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award is testament to the well thought-out site which encourages an abundance of wildlife including squirrels, roe and red deer, foxes and birds.
There is a vast range of accommodation on offer to suit every need from camping and touring pitches to various levels of pods including the deluxe pod with private bathroom and kitchenette. You might prefer the cosy and comfortable Shepherd’s Hut or perhaps one of the well-equipped static caravans or even the self-catering cottage.
The camping pitches offer incredible views, as you might expect in this area. One of the areas, Fellside, offers magnificent views down Lake Windermere towards the Langdale Pikes and across to Coniston Old Man from its undulating slopes. Here, you can choose your own area to camp, giving you the feeling of wild camping, with the added comfort of being close to well-maintained facilities. Alternatively, the Ghyllside camping area, has specific, large pitches with electrical hook-up (6amps).
There are modern, clean facilities at Park Cliffe including heated showers, children’s adventure playground, shop, games room as well as a bar and restaurant.
For those that want to explore the area, there are many walks and cycle routes to take in the stunning scenery, including plenty that are suitable for children. There are also many family attractions nearby such as Lakeland Maze Farm, Graythwaite Adventure, Aquarium of the Lakes and Beatrix Potter’s House to name but a few.
So, if you are looking for a wonderful family-friendly campsite set in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District, Park Cliffe might be exactly what you are searching for.
